Track a number by hand

Not every number lives in a spreadsheet. Manual targets take a check-in whenever there's a new value, and nudge the owner when a week goes by without one.

A manual target is a metric target you feed yourself: LinkedIn followers, certifications completed, a satisfaction score someone emails you. It looks and behaves exactly like a data-backed target — badge, current value against target, trend chart — the only difference is where the number comes from.

Add one

  1. On the goal, open Success Metrics → Add and switch to the By hand tab.
  2. Give it a name, a direction and target (reach at least 400), the current value, and an optional unit.
  3. Click Add target. It appears in the card like any other target.

Check in

When there's a new number, click Check in on the target, type the value and save. The badge and number update instantly and the check-in lands in the goal's activity feed. Check-ins can be edited or removed from the target's menu if you typed the wrong thing.
