What spreadsheets can I upload?

CSV or Excel, one row per person per period, no template. What the importer looks for, what it skips, and how recurring files are recognized.

The Data page (Organization → Data) accepts .csv, .xlsx and .xls files, one at a time. There is deliberately no template: the point is to use the report your systems already produce.

Shapes that work

  • A column per metric — Rep, Week, Calls Made, Deals Closed, Revenue. The most common export shape.
  • A metric-name column beside a value column — Person, Period, Metric, Value. Long-format exports from BI tools.
  • Org-wide numbers with no person column — Month, NPS, Responses. Registered as an Org-wide dataset and usable on organization goals.
  • Event logs — one row per call, ticket or sale rather than one per person per period. miviva notices and asks how to summarize it (count per person per week, sum of a column, …). Pick once; files like it are summarized the same way from then on.

What the importer does with a file

  1. Recognizes whether this is a feed it has seen before, by the shape of the file — not the filename.
  2. Maps columns to fields. Renamed headers (Revenue → Revenue ($)) are learned as aliases of the same field.
  3. Normalizes values: currency strings like $8,450, percentages, dates in several formats.
  4. Matches the person column to people in your organization by full name.
  5. Loads the values and writes the result card and the Upload history row.

Who can upload

Managers and admins. A manager can only load numbers about people in their own reporting chain — see Who can see whose numbers?.
